Chef Selena embarked on her culinary career as a waitress, hostess and relief cook in a small café. Determined then not to spend her life around food, she went on to get a “real” job in the banking industry. Not finding her niche on the teller line, she went back office where she was christened a Loan Service Representative. Though she thought she’d left the food industry behind, Chef Selena was constantly busy cooking for family and friends. There were birthday dinners, cakes and special occasion cheesecakes that kept her number on quite a few speed dials. In 2004, her “real job” was outsourced and Chef Selena finally surrendered to the call of the kitchen. It was then that Chef Selena first launched her service- Sheba’s Personal Chef Service. As a Personal Chef, Chef Selena’s job is to first, complete an interview to determine dinner time favorites, discuss allergies and dislikes, and then shop for the freshest ingredients. After shopping, she cooks delicious meals in the clients very own kitchen leaving them with perfectly portioned, nutritious meals waiting for them at home. In 2013, Sheba’s Personal Chef Service was re-branded as Red Delicious Café and Personal Chef Service and started offering meals that cater to special dietary needs. These special dietary needs include but are not limited to paleo, gluten free and low calorie meals. In 2014 Red Delicious acquired a food truck that is available downtown St. Louis for lunch during the summer and for special events in the St. Louis Metro area. Fully certified in food safety and insured, Chef Selena is determined to make good eating an economical and convenient reality rather than a fond hope. Her resolution can be summed up in the company motto. “Red Delicious Café and Personal Chef Service: Improving your health one delicious bite at a time!”
