I feature a lot of people on this website who have Quit Working a job they don’t care about to putting Living first and doing something they DO care about. But some people never start Working.
Anthony Balduzzi was 9 years old when his dad, Peter Balduzzi, died at the age of 42 after an eight-year battle with brain cancer. On his tenth birthday, Anthony was supposed to be happy — opening presents and celebrating with his friends, as a normal ten-year-old would. But he wasn’t. Anthony was devastated by the loss of his father, just four weeks earlier.
Not only had he lost his father, but leading up to it, he had to watch his dad lose his health, energy and vibrancy. Anthony made a Decision (It’s capitalized because it’s a REAL Decision) on his tenth birthday to make sure nobody ever has to lose their energy, vibrancy and health. He devoted the next ten years to studying nutrition and neuroscience, so he would understand how to help people eat and behave in a way that the most energy, stamina and feel their best so they can live the best lives possible.
Halftime Fitness Is Born
To get that message out, he started a business called Halftime Fitness to motivate and empower men and women to “fight for a better second half” — to have that second half of their life that his dad didn’t get the chance to have.
I got the chance to meet Anthony a few years ago. I was impressed that such a young person knew exactly how he wanted to spend the rest of his life — he is Devoted. People who start successful businesses have one thing in common:
They have a GOOD REASON. Anthony has a good reason.
We’ve stayed in touch these past two years. I sent Anthony a preview copy of How to Quit Working in April. He read it and had this to say:
