What I learned about Attitude in 2012

I get asked a lot about my journey, particularly by people who are still working corporate jobs or are working in businesses that they aren’t passionate about and don’t give them the lifestyle they want.

They ask me, “How did you do it?”

I explain it and, frankly, most respond with something like, “that’s great, but I’ll never be able to do it.”

And they are right.

I made a video on this, which you can watch below or just keep reading.

The simple reason is because they don’t think it’s possible. They simply believe that they are resigned to a life of hum-drum mediocrity. And, frankly, I think that is crap.

As long as I can remember, I have had the mentality that ANYTHING is possible. I remember when I was in high-school and wanted my own stereo system. The system I wanted was over 800 bucks. Coming up with that amount of money was unfathomable to most kids my age (this is around 1988, so you can put it into perspective!) Everyone told me I was nuts and a 16 year old kid could never come up with that kind of money. But I did. Because I thought they were nuts.

I get whatever I want.

That is the one thing that has remained true throughout my entire life. And this year, I got some of the biggest things that I’ve wanted out of life for a long time. And for one reason ONLY.

My attitude is that I CAN and WILL have them.

Sometimes when we think we have mastered something, we only realize that we have farther to go. This year, two major things happened.AttitudeIsEverything

1) I realized that the only reason I get whatever I want is because I believe, on a very deep level, that whatever I want is MINE and I WILL have it.

2) I also realized that I need to take this mentality to another level. I have to engrain this mentality DEEPER and STRONGER.

My successes this year were because I believed those things were possible. My failures were because I did not truly believe that those things were possible.

There is nothing more heartbreaking to me than to see someone who clearly wants something – very badly, but they do not believe it is possible. Because I know that THAT THOUGHT is the thing  holding them back.

If you are reading this, you are probably one who truly believes that having the lifestyle of freedom of flexibility and living passionately and to your fullest IS possible. And for that I congratulate you.

Those who DO NOT think it’s possible, probably aren’t reading this. And that’s OK, because this isn’t for them. I WILL make millions of people who don’t believe it is possible believe it is possible.

But not yet. I’m on a journey. That time will come.

For now, my efforts focus on those who already believe it’s possible. Congratulations on being one of those people.

What have you accomplished that you thought was possible, but others did not believe was possible? Or, what do you KNOW you WILL accomplish? Tell me in the comments below.
